One of the largest NHS trusts in the North East expands its charging infrastructure

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has added a further eight 7Kw charging outlets to their trust-wide electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

One of Elmtronics biggest customers in the UK, the trust has a range of fast and rapid charging facilities at six locations.

The charging specialists have already installed a total of 34 7Kw AC outlets and four 50Kw DC charging stations to support the trusts almost all-electric fleet of vehicles.

Michael Taylor, Trustwide Hotel Services Officer (Portering) said: “Elmtronics are a very professional and knowledgeable company that work alongside the hospital Estates Department. From first point of contact with Elmtronics, the staff were efficient and professional and have an exceptional set of expertise. They quickly recognised our needs and were very knowledgeable about the infrastructure and equipment that was required.

“The quality of the EV charging equipment supplied by Elmtronics is remarkable and meets all of the trust’s needs. The customer service is excellent and nothing seems to be a problem.”

The trust needed a cost-effective transport solution to replace their fleet of diesel vans and to help improve their carbon footprint, making the service more efficient. With a reliable charging infrastructure supplied and installed by Elmtronics, the project has been so successful the trust won the Sustainable Achievement Award at the prestigious institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management.
