MP appointed as UK’s Net Zero Business Champ!

The government has announced that Andrew Griffith will be the UK’s Net Zero Business Champion, to help support the UK’s business community become net zero by 2050.

Mr Griffith will work alongside Business Secretary, Alok Sharma to help develop feasible and credible plans, with the goal of UK businesses committing to meet the targets laid out.

It is the government’s intention for the UK to become a global leader in addressing and tackling the effects of climate change.

Andrew Griffith said:

“I am delighted to have been appointed as the UK’s Net Zero Business Champion. Business has a central role to play in making a successful transition to a low carbon economy.”

Speaking on the subject of the government’s 2030 ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel cars, Dan commented:

“The move towards zero-carbon transport is well underway, vehicle manufacturers have realised that in order to survive they need to be leading the push to electric vehicle uptake and governments are wising up to their role to make this happen.”

Viva electric!
