Fiat 500e – Fiats first-ever EV
Fiat unveiled the electric upgrade in a video with president Oliver François showing off all the classic elements of its ancestor – but better! However, the purpose-built EV is not simply an adaptation of the existing model.
The electric 500e poses the timeless panoramic roof and fashions a 3+1 door system, allowing the rear passengers an exit from the driver-side (although this feature isn’t yet available in the UK).
The new model has maintained its retro charm and the city car is offered up in 3 beautiful shades; Ocean Green, Mineral Grey and Celestial Blue – “all inspired by nature”.
Pulling the design into the future, the car comes with full LED lights that provide a crisp, clear view of the road, and although these modern elements have been added, the modern style still nods to the heritage of the Fiat 500.
François said, “We’re all in. It’s all-electric and only electric from day one. With the 500’s business success, that’s a bold decision. But it doesn’t feel the time to be timid”.
This is the first electric car to be manufactured by Fiat and we think they’ve done it just right.
