Elmtronics signs major partnership with Octopus Energy
We are thrilled to announce that we have signed a major partnership with Octopus Energy, making charging simpler for EV drivers.
The new partnership sees Hubsta, our smart charging network, join forces with Octopus Energy’s Electric Juice network.
Octopus’ Electric Juice network provides a roaming service for electric charging. This key partnership will simplify payments for EV drivers, enabling them to charge their electric vehicles with no upfront payment.
Octopus Energy utility customers can use the Electric Juice card to pay for their charge through their energy bill by simply tapping ‘Pay with Octopus’ when charging at participating charge points.
The new roaming capability enables customers to use the Electric Juice card on the road allowing payment through various partners, including Hubsta.
Octopus Energy’s Zoisa Walton said: “Thanks to these new agreements, users of our Electric Juice Network will benefit from considerable countrywide coverage.
This gives them even more access to rapid charging across the UK, in addition to the networks already included. All this makes it easier than ever to pay for all your charges with one simple bill.”
Our Hubsta back-office launched in October 2018 and was rolled out across the UK in January 2020. Connecting to over 250,000 electric car charging points, the network has enabled a saving of over 1,000 tonnes of CO2.
Hubsta gives users full control of their data and the ability to remotely manage each charge in real-time.
Elmtronics’ Technical Director, Anthony Piggott said: “Our partnership with Octopus Energy is an important step towards encouraging people to make the transition to an electric vehicle.
It will provide customers with a greater level of service to keep them going on their electric journey.
It’s exciting to be supporting a network which will benefit our customers who also use Octopus as an energy provider.”
Anthony also added, “We’re working with many customers to help them switch over to Hubsta; we can only see this increasing over the next few months as more people begin to see the benefits.”
