Standard socket charger vs tethered charger – During the winter months

In theory there is no difference in performance or how its chargers your vehicle, the only difference is the standard socket charger comes with no lead, so you must provide your own lead and plug it into the car and the charger every time you need to charge your car. The tethered charger has the lead already attached to the charger so when you pull up at home you connect the lead from the charger to your car.

The main advantage of the tethered unit especially at this time of the year, is you don’t have to drag your lead from your car and plug it into the charger and the vehicle. With a tethered unit you simply remove the lead from the real of the charger and plug it into your car. This is the same when you have finished charging instead of unplugging both ends and packing the lead away, especially if its wet! You unplug your car and place the lead on the chargers real then drive away.
