A survey revealed plans for businesses across the UK to spend nearly £16bn on electric vehicles.
The survey of 200 businesses that operate fleets, found that the planned investment is a 50% increase on last year.
Of those questioned, 40% said that the total number of EVs in their fleet had increased during the last year (April 2020 – March 2021).
Almost 60% said that they had increased their number of electric vehicles to meet the overall business’s sustainability targets.
Research also found that 30% of the businesses surveyed have already invested in energy generating technologies, such as solar panels, to charge their fleets.
Although more than a third have already installed charging infrastructure at their sites, under half said they plan to install EV charging points in the next 12 months.
